Refusing to Choose Between Animals and People

Nzatu Food Group congratulates Dr. Krithi K. Karanth and the Centre for Wildlife Studies on receiving the 2025 John P. McNulty Prize at the Resnick Aspen Action Forum in Aspen, Colorado.

It’s a proud moment not just for Wildlife Conservation, but for all of us working towards a more just and sustainable planet.

Being the first wildlife organisation to receive this recognition is a testament to the power of  Science-led,  community-driven action — a principle Nzatu deeply shares.

As a pan-African organisation focused on transforming systems for human and planetary well-being, we are inspired by the stories and lessons from CWS’s work in India. There is much we can learn — in particular, how to center local voices, drive cross-sector collaboration, and scale meaningful  impact.

Likewise, we believe that Nzatu’s own work across Africa — grounded in Indigenous knowledge, policy innovation, conservation technology and networked leadership — can contribute to this growing GlobalMovement.

This is exactly the kind of exchange and community we need to accelerate change across continents.

We encourage you to watch Krithi’s powerful talk and the McNulty Prize panel: https://www.youtube.com/live/sHtMIogZ9XA?t=3155s

Here’s to more shared learning, more collective action, and a future where every voice and ecosystem matters.
