Njuki Honey

Bees are essential for pollination, which is vital to all life on Earth. Simply put, plants cannot reproduce when not pollinated. Only when this process is completed can plants create seeds, grow and provide us with food. They keep our planet’s precious ecosystems growing and thriving.

Nzatu’s sustinabale apiary management techniques improves livelihoods of local communities, promotes conservation and enhances climate resilience.

Zambia – Luangwa Valley

Our honey is sourced from the mixed flowers of the Luangwa Valley which includes the baobab and acacia trees with a rich source of minerals (potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc).

Acacia trees known as Munga woodlands are dominant in the valley. Due to acacia honey’s antioxidant and antibacterial properties, it may help speed up wound healing and prevent bacterial infection. This honey helps maintain a moist environment while providing a protective barrier, both of which can aid wound healing.

Zambia – Miombo Forest

Miombo is a type of woodland characteristic to areas exclusively in Central and Southern Africa. Miombo forests are dominated by the Miombo or Brachystegia tree, a gorgeous shade-giving, whirly branched tree. Miombo  woodlands characteristically have lots of shrubs, wildflowers, and grasses home to 8,500 plant species; over 300 which are trees.

This wild forest honey has a sweeter fragrance and taste in comparison to the usual honey. It helps to reduce the risk of heart and respiratory diseases, helps against acid reflux, ensures great health for hair and skin, and helps to combat infectious disease.

This honey is unpasteurized, unprocessed and unheated to easily retain the nutrients of honey. Our honey is best described “as it exists in the beehive.” It is extracted from the beehive, strained and poured straight into the bottle, bypassing commercial processing methods.
