Nzatu Food Group Advocates for Indigenous-Led Regenerative Food Systems at UN Summit

Nzatu Food Group was honored to participate in the Regenerative Innovation & Indigenous Leadership Futures Summit alongside the 4th United Nations Financing for Development Conference (FfD4) in Seville, Spain.

Our Co-Founder Gwen Jones highlighted the power of indigenous food systems in advancing climate resilience, seed sovereignty, and ancestral wisdom — advocating for policy shifts to legalize community seed banks.

Unlike many theoretical discussions, Nzatu stands out by doing the work: building conscious, market-based solutions that link indigenous crops to climate financing and sustainable food systems.

We have initiated strategic discussions with South African R&D institutions (ARC, CSIR, DSTI) to scale climate-aligned products—from Ready-To-Use Therapeutic Foods (RUTFs) using beer spent grain to community Rooibos tea projects.

Let’s continue building resilient, equitable, and regenerative food systems — rooted in action, not just theory.
