Acting today to tackle climate change

We must now prepare for a likely breaching of the 1.5 degrees celsius planetary boundary on climate between 2030 and 2035.

If we act today, we will still have an overshoot of up to another 0.3 degrees (1.8 degrees celsius) for a 30-40 year period, before we come back to 1.5 degrees by the year 2100.

Over the next generation (35 years) we must prepare for the inevitable:
1. More droughts
2. More floods
3. More heatwaves
4. More diseases

2023 will be seen as a “mild year” in comparison to what is coming – Take note Cocoa and Coffee farmers.

It is not just about mitigating by phasingout fossil fuels. We will need Nature Based Solutions to “suck back” the excess carbon.

What can we do?

1. Linear change is no longer an option
2. We must act with speed and at scale
3. We have to be stewards from the indigenous communities to the global political class

How can we do it?

The Good News is that we have Solutions TODAY

1. Renewable energy is already cheaper than fossil-fuel based energy
2. Transform business models to be Circular
3. Health and Nutrition – Sustainable Food Systems for consumers and the planet
4. Halting NatureLoss – Scaling Regeneration and Restoration of Biodiversity

You as an individual must want it. Let us make the choice today.
